Mera peak is an ideal first-time high altitude climb. It is a challenging trek that requires physical fitness, an ice ax, an ice bag and crampons.
The Mera Peak is a great introduction to climbing the Himalayas. You can learn a lot about acclimatization and how to manage your body in the high altitude environment. But you also need to be aware of the dangers associated with the high altitude environment.
As you climb, you will need to make sure you get enough rest. Your body needs time to adjust to the new elevation. If you want to ensure that you are in good shape, you should do some light hiking and a few exercises.
Before you begin your trek, you need to choose the right season. Although the weather is often unpredictable, it is best to try to reach the summit during the spring or autumn. Also, the mountain will be easier to climb in the cooler months.
You should also consider taking an introductory course in mountaineering. A one week course will prepare you for the more technical aspects of the mountain.
There are two main routes that you can take to reach Mera Peak. The shortest route is a 15-16 day journey, while the longer route takes 18-24 days. However, the shortest route is not recommended for beginner climbers.
You should have a healthy heart, a strong lung capacity, and a decent amount of stamina. Climbing Mera Peak is not as difficult as other mountain expeditions.
